Sierra Madre Brewing Company2 Closes April 30, 2005
The Sierra Madre Brewing Company2 closed on April 30, 2005 (that's the date I think it was, if somebody knows otherwise, let me know). The Brewing Company had been located at 21 Kersting Court, after moving from its original location on East Montecito. Steve Heydorff and Jim Moran were the owners, along with a group of investors. Heydorff and Charlie Childs had been the owners of the first location, but after losing their lease on Montecito, Charlie decided to bow out, and Moran came on board. They found a location in what had been a Fisherman's Wharf restaurant for many years, and even kept one of the Wharf's chefs, Javier, who made a mean fish and chips and an excellent clam chowder. They opened on April 23rd, 2003 and lasted a little over two years.
Here's links to some of the pertinent dates in SMBC and SMBC2's history, and lots of photos from closing night.
