Sierra Madre Brewery Benefit Salmon BBQ for Fr. Gara Memorial For more on Msgr. Gara, click here On Monday, August 21, 2000, the Sierra Madre Brewery held a benefit salmon barbecue to raise funds for the Monsignor Gara Memorial to be erected at Sierra Madre's Pioneer Cemetary. Salmon from their recent Alaskan fishing trip was donated by Charlie Childs, Lew Watanabe, and John Werthwein. Special thanks go out to Corfu for their donation of rice pilaf, bread and salmon sauce, John and Grace O'Brien for their donation of mahi-mahi, and the Sierra Madre Brewing Company for their donation of salad, paper goods, and plastic ware.
