I got there very early this year, before it opened. It was still gray, though later in the day it warmed up for the Friends of the Library Art Fair. The streets were deserted except for a lone biker and cars in the distance, but lined with all the fire service equipment which had been cleared out to make room for the flapjack aficionados to arrive later. I got some video of the firemen preparing the first flapjacks and sausage, and the arrival of the first diners of the day. I know the balloons that get everybody's attention as they drive by don't just blow themselves up, so I got some video of the volunteers filling up the balloons. Then I took some still photos. When I came back later in the day with the family to have pancakes myself, I only took one crowd shot picture, but I thought I should so you wouldn't think the 7 am emptiness lasted all day. This event is always well-supported by the Community.
