E. Waldo Ward and Son Draws Crowds to Final Pioneer Days Event Sunday, Oct. 12, saw the final events of Pioneer Days 2003. E. Waldo Ward and Son opened their ranch to visitors, who had the opportunity to receive tours from 4th generation owner Jeff Ward, view the antique museum on premises, enjoy live entertainment, study antique engines and view antique cars, observe old fashioned crafts such as Native American basket weaving, fruit pressing, printing, woodcrafts and more, and participate in craft activities sponsored by Creative Arts Group and Sierra Mesa School. There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day, and those with whom we spoke were enjoying themselves, in spite of the heat. Thanks to the Wards for opening up their historic property to the Community of Sierra Madre. Click on a photo below to see it larger.
