Fran Garbaccio Honored as Sierra Madre’s Older American, 2010 Pictures Video Back to Older American main page Friday, May 14, 2010 At a reception held in her honor at the Hart House in Memorial Park (aka Senior Center), Fran Garbaccio was celebrated by the community and received proclamations from local politicos and dignitaries. There was a standing room only crowd on hand as Congressman David Dreier, David Monroy from Sen. Huff's office and Mayor Joe Mosca presented Fran with proclamations from Congress, the state Senate, Assemblyman Anthony Adams, and County Supervisor Mike Antonovich. Mosca invited everyone to come to City Hall at the next council meeting, where Fran will receive the City's proclamation. Library Director Tony Buckner spoke about Fran and her accomplishments, prior to introducing her as the Older American for 2010. She noted that Fran and her husband Don had moved to Sierra Madre from New York in 1960. This page under construction, more text and videos coming soon.
