Former Sierra Madrean Marion (Black) Behrens Passes Away in Texas

Marion D. (Black) Behrens, who made friends wherever she went, passed away on March 10, 2007 in Clifton, TX after a brief struggle with cancer of the kidney.  She was eighty years old.

Marion and her former husband Emmett (Bud) Black, lived in Sierra Madre for many years.  She was employed by Bank of America, and she and her husband were involved in the Sierra Madre Garden Club and with Sierra Madre Congregational Church.   

Marion was first married to Emmett (Bud) Black.  When he passed away she moved to Monrovia, and later married her childhood sweetheart, Charlie Behrens.  They lived in Randsburg and Ridgecrest, CA, until Charlie passed away.  She then moved to Valley Mills, TX to live with friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Scheu (David), Mira Loma; step-daughter, Marian Black (Cambria); a brother, George Holiday (Marcia) Utah; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated, and there will be a private ceremony at a later date.  She requested no flowers or donations.
