Holiday Concert 2006 Dec. 20, 2006
Sierra Madre School had its holiday concerts on Wednesday and Thursday, featuring orchestras from both the lower and upper campuses and vocal performances by performing arts groups from both campuses. In the first four rows of photos below, except the last photo, fourth and fifth grade “Song and Dance Maniacs” from the lower campus performed an educational skit about classical composers before segueing into holiday songs about Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. The last picture of the fourth row and all the rows below, middle school students in the Performing Arts Kids (PAK) group at the upper campus performed several holiday favorites before switching into high gear with an impressive and stellar performance of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. Incidentally, if you’re wondering about the clothing on some of the kids, as part of Spirit Week, Wednesday was Geek Day (dress like a geek). For best results on the videos below, right click on the link and save the file to your computer, then watch it. If you just click on the link, the video will probably stop and start over and over as more is downloaded, particularly on older computers or those with slow internet connections. Smallest file, really lousy video quality (kid's faces are all washed out, etc.) and reduced audio quality. Only download this if you are on dial-up (about 2mb) Next file - video quality is better, but still some washout, audio is a little better too. This was posted for those on dialup that have the patience to wait for a 7mb download. Don't let the file name confuse, the file name says it's the smallest video, but it's not. Optimum file - 10mb. Video and sound quality are both decent, not much worse than the best file, below, and it's a faster download than the best file.. Best file - Good video quality, good audio quality, but it's 21mb, so even DSL will take several minutes to download. Least Quality - Video quality poor, faces washed out, audio's okay though. For Dial-up, only 2mb Decent Quality - Significantly improved video over least quality, 10mb download Good Quality - Best quality, 20mb download |
