Sierra Madre Volunteer Firefighters Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 19, 2003 Back to Easter Egg Hunt Main Page SMVFA Hosts Easter Egg Hunt, for 73rd Time The Sierra Madre Volunteer Firefighter's Association, which began hosting the Annual Easter Egg Hunt back in 1931, did it again on Saturday. The crowd appeared to be a little smaller, (possibly just our vantage point) but the enthusiasm of those in attendance was every bit as rabbit (bad joke) as always. Kids swooped on 75,000 pieces of candy, and a total of 36 golden eggs were discovered and swapped for "bonzo" baskets. A great time for the firemen, who love doing it, and for all the kids, who love the hunt, and the parents, who love the kids' hunting, and the firemen for doing it. And let's not forget the Easter bunny, who arrived on a fire engine shortly before ten!! Here's a video of the
