Sierra Madre Elementary School Spotlight Awards Assembly Friday, Oct. 17, 2003
Sierra Madre School Holds First Spotlight Assembly of the Year Sierra Madre Elementary School held its first Spotlight Awards Assemblies of the year on the temporary campus at Sierra Mesa on Friday, Oct. 17. There was a splendid show by the fifth graders, who used reading theater and music to entertain parents and the younger grades with a Latin American/Halloween theme. Traditionally, the fifth graders do the first Assembly of the year, to demonstrate to the newest youngsters what they have to look forward to during their years on campus. Principal Ty Gaffney opened the assembly, and then Ms. Blumel and the talented fifth graders took over. Congratulations to Ms. Blumel and the fifth graders, for a fun, entertaining performance. These assemblies are usually shot from a distance that's a little beyond our camera's capabilities, so we do our best with the software to make the picture work.
