(8/22/04)  E. Waldo Ward & Son Crate Label Reproductions Now Available, Suitable for Framing  E. Waldo Ward and Son has produced a limited number of crate labels (click image above left to see a larger image) that were first used by the ranch on their crates around 1915.  The label, which measures approx. 10" x 11", is a true piece of Sierra Madre history, and the reproduction is made with vivid colors that will look fantastic when placed in the right frame with the proper matting. Cost of the label, without frame, is just $10.  Let's not forget we have two somewhat renowned framers in this town, Frank van Dongen of Harlequin Art Gallery and Restoration and Ria Richey of Creative Framing.  E. Waldo Ward and Son has underwritten the cost of producing this limited edition label, and, after recovering its expenses, will donate the balance of the proceeds to the Sierra Madre Pioneer Days Association, to help fund this and future year's Pioneer Days events.  Most of this year's Pioneer Days events will take place at the Ward Ranch, allowing attendees the opportunity to view the operations of Sierra Madre's oldest business.  To order your E. Waldo Ward & Son crate label, visit the E. Waldo Ward & Son website.  Local merchants may also have the labels soon, that is still being arranged at this time.
