Wienie Roast Fundraiser Saturday, July 26, 2003 |
|
The Pioneer Days Association held a Wienie Roast Fundraiser on Saturday, July 26, 2003. The Association was quite pleased with the show of community support, with an estimated 150 to 175 in attendance, especially when considering the Gold Line Opening, the memorial service for long time resident Bill Thew, the anticipation of the following evening's benefit for Lew Watanabe, and the hot weather. There was a cakewalk, a Lincoln Log building area, coloring area, chalk drawings on the sidewalk and live entertainment. Delicious hot dogs. Pion-ear corn on the cob, lemonade and popsicles were all on the menu. The SMPDA would like to thank all the volunteers who pitched in to help, and the community for turning out to show support.
