Each year, local teens (and younger) participate in a window painting contest with the palette's being the storefronts of local businesses. Unfortunately, this ear I didn't get out while the kids were doing the painting, so there's no kids in the pics. But I did manage to shoot pics of some of the windows themselves.
Click on the thumbnail to see the picture full size. The Sierra Madre Downtown Window Painting Contest was held Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23, 2010. A total of 119 youth participated in the contest. Among the four age categories, 38 teams participated with the 9-10 and 11-12 age categories containing the largest number of entries. All age categories had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning team, except for the 11-12 age category which had a tie for 1st. 9-10 Age Category 1st Place: Alejandra Barajas, Margaret McFaul, Victoria Tavera, Margaret Walters Window: Village Pizza (inside window) 2nd Place: Jordan Beach, Kate Iko, Claire White Window: Starbucks (right window) 3rd Place: Naiara Munich, Jamie Tokumoto, Blair Walters, Carmen Walters Window: Casa del Rey (left window)
