Pioneer Days 1999 Dinner/Barn Dance Due
to the number of photographs, this page may take a while to load, please
be patient.
The Friends of the Library
and the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association opened
up the Rose Float barn for an old fashioned barn dance with a dance caller.
Dancing as it was in the Pioneer Days. During dinner, music was provided
by the Clay County Bluegrass Band. After dinner, there was square
dancing all around. An extremely popular exhibit was a display of
antique photos of Sierra Madre history up on the parapet. The dinner
menu of country carved ham and barbecued turkey, with homemade buttermilk
biscuits, roast corn and mixed greens was prepared by Heavenly Scent, and
tasted wonderful. Dinner was from 6 to 8, with old-fashioned dancing
from 8-10.
