MUSIC NEWS RED, WHITE & BLUEs

Sierra Madre has always been a great place to celebrate Independence Day, and this year is no exception.  There will be loads of fun and entertainment in Memorial Park on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  (We get to rest on Monday!)  Our hometown Parade on the 4th is as Americana as it gets; local dignitaries, bands, kids on bikes, decorated floats, and lots of RED, WHITE & BLUE!  Don't miss it!
The featured bands (pictured here) for the July 3rd Rock 'n' Roll concert are two of my favorites - THE SHEDS and ALUMINUM MARSHMALLOW.  You may have seen them last year and/or at the Wistaria Festival.  Well - they're back and better than ever!!!  This photo of the SHEDS (L to R: Evan, Morgan & Mac) includes 3 of their biggest fans - Ivy and Bridget Fitzgerald, with my niece Danna Hoffman in the middle, who is celebrating her 13th birthday this week.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNA!!!

We're going to post links to past Music News columns, not because it makes sense to post outdated calendar items, but just so you can look up the name of the band that played at that place last Thursday that it's driving you crazy that you can't remember.  Actually, we may also add to some of the old columns by creating links at the blurb about an event, if we cover it and have either photos or videos that we've posted for that event.
