Bob Mitchell a Big Hit with Kiwanis and Guests

Mitchell Again Entertains Kiwanis  Bob Mitchell, founder of the Mitchell Boys Choir, pictured at left with Kiwanis president Clem Bartolai, was again the featured speaker at Kiwanis on March 18.  Mitchell spoke to Kiwanis in February about his boyhood in Sierra Madre from 1916 to 1926, and returned yesterday to discuss his decades long stewardship of the Boys Choir.  Interspersed with songs the choir performed in more than 100 films such as Angels with Dirty Faces, Going My Way, White Christmas and many more movies from the thirties and forties, were anecdotes about encounters with Judy Garland, Irene Dunn, Jimmy Cagney, Deanna Durbin and heads of major studios.  There are more   Click on a photo to see it larger, click on the underlined text in the bottom three squares to view the video files.
