Click here for past columns The intent of the column is to let everybody know briefly what Sierra Madre businesses and non-profit/civic organizations are up to. If you have an item or event of interest coming up, contact me here. This page will be updated as I hear about things and have time to post, so check back frequently. It's going to be like a perpetual column. Parts will be the same, but there may be new stuff inserted throughout the column, so check for the bold type to see if you've read the items before. All dinner menu items are now $8.99 (if you want something that's not on the menu, and he's got it in the kitchen, you can get it but it may cost more than $8.99), and they are planning to open for breakfast soon. They're also looking at getting an entertainment license. Check back for updates....K's Deli has revised their menu and their hours. The Coburn Group and Gwen Gordon/Graphic Solutions have agreed to joint venture another Downtown Map flyer like they did back in June. That black and white flyer is available at City Hall, Savor the Flavor, Dr. Challita's, and Julia Rocks. The new flyer will be a full-color version, and will feature a full-color version of a downtown district map similar to this one, as well as short write-ups about annual Sierra Madre events. The publication will have a Thanksgiving Day newspaper distribution of 66,000 in the San Gabriel Valley. That date was chosen to get Sierra Madre businesses in the paper on the busiest newspaper advertising day of the year, the day before the busiest shopping day of the year. The flyer is funded by sales of ads/listings to Sierra Madre businesses. To reserve your space, contact us..... Savor the Flavor has contracted with Side by Slide Multimedia Presentations to design, monitor and maintain their website. The design process is just starting, we'll let you know when it's finished. Meantime, you can visit Savor the Flavor on the web at their News Net web page, www.sierramadrenews.net/savortheflavor.htm.....Sierra Madre Brewing Company is on its way back to Sierra Madre in the location presently held by Fisherman's Wharf. Sierra Madre Business Center owner Jim Moran and local fireman Steve Heydorff have entered escrow and hope for an early October opening......Briana Companies/Solid Shave have signed on to co-sponsor the Pioneer Days Beard Growing Contest, with judging to be held Oct. 19th. Briana Companies/Solid Shave is affiliated with Briana Salon in Renaissance Plaza. The other contest sponsor is Sierra Madre News Net. Two or three additional sponsors are being recruited....
