Cheryl Barnes and Phillip Cabasso

www.cheryldbarnes.com

Shortly after meeting in 1985, Cheryl Barnes and Phil Cabasso embarked on a musical adventure which continues to this day.   Seeking to go beyond the well-worn path of playing and singing the standard jazz repertoire, they are continually seeking new and interesting ways to present their musical ideas.

With Phil’s particular emphasis on harmonic and rhythmic exploration and Cheryl’s unerring sense of what a musical performance is supposed to be all about, their efforts have been well received by a wide variety of audiences, from those new to jazz, all the way to top jazz pros.

As a percussionist her timing is phenomenal and impeccable. She never misses a beat.

As a singer her voice is pure, warm, sensual and beautiful to listen to. Iliana captivates an audience in English, Spanish and even a little Portuguese and has a unique ability to phrase that is given only to natural born jazz singers.

Jane Fuller Trio

www.janefuller.com

Jane Fuller is a singer-songwriter-guitarist from Sierra Madre, CA.  She sings jazz standards and contemporary blues with a cool, sensual style over a strong groove.  Her vocals are smooth with nuances in phrasing.  However, she can also belt out some strong notes when the music needs it.  Jane accompanies herself on a hollow-body jazz guitar with a steady, swinging rhythm and percussive effect.  She has a circle of established jazz musicians that she likes to play with in her local area.

Jane has been performing professionally for over ten years throughout southern California at various venues.  Therefore, she has built a loyal following of fans. She has studied music extensively and explored different styles.  She performs solo as well as with bands. She was voted the “Best Local Musician” finalist in Pasadena Weekly’s “BEST OF 2009” readers’ poll.

Jennifer Luna and Patrick O'Connor

Both hailing from the mean streets of Pasadena, Jenny Luna and Patrick O’Connor took their love of singers like Chet Baker, Anita O’Day, and Billie Holiday and transformed themselves, with the help of jazz master educators Mary Durst and Andrea Baker Wilkerson of Pasadena City College, into super-singers fueling the flame of the great American standard while also exploring new sonic territory.

Julie Cresswell Trio

www.myspace.com/juliecresswell

A longtime music veteran, Julie Cresswell has worked alongside many legends, almost too numerous to name, from Earl Klugh to Brian Setzer to Stan Getz! From an early upbringing singing the music of the church, she followed her interests into a variety of American music genres, from folk thru bluegrass, blues, old-timey country, and later, swing, jazz, bebop and bossa nova.

Julie now weaves together her passion for jazz with a warm, mellow and intimate vocal quality, performing sensitive and swinging interpretations of the wonderful standards of the Great American Songbook, sprinkled with a bit of bebop and some newer compositions. She is also becoming known for her recent lyrical collaborations with several noteworthy composers such as Ron Anthony, David Eastlee and Rick Stone.

He’s performed and recorded in a variety of settings, from classical to rock to jazz to r&b to gospel to country as well as folk music from around the world. He wowed ‘em in China! His first cd, SCOT-FREE, did well in the Ukraine, probably because it was a bootleg copy and basically free and Steve never saw a dime.  He’s currently scoring short dramatic pieces for the good people over at 5 Minute Horror (http://www.5minutehorror.com/) and is working on his 3rd cd.

The Steve Creason Band is an eclectic and energetic enterprise, and whenever they perform people have a good time!
