SIERRA MADRE HOLDS ANNUAL CAMPOUT OUT TO FIGHT CANCER
American
Cancer Society’s Signature Community Event!
WHAT: Relay For Life is the signature activity of the American
Cancer Society. Relay is a unique event that offers Sierra Madre the
opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease,
and raise funds to help continue the fight against cancer.
Relay For Life is a family-oriented, community-based
event where teams collect donations, then take turns walking or running around
a track for 24 hours. While not
walking, team members and supporters, including cancer survivors and city
officials, camp out around the track field enjoying music, food, live bands and
other entertainment, camaraderie and the knowledge that they are making a
difference.
Few other events bring together all components of a
community from children to older adults like the Relay For Life. Games, food,
fun, music and activities fill the air of every Relay For Life as everyone
joins for a common cause and has fun doing it!
Last year the American Cancer Society invested more
than $300 million in research and free services to cancer patients. Thanks to
your support of the Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society can continue
making strides in the fight against cancer.
