Press Release posted 6/28/12 – Assemblyman Tim Donnelly today released the following statements in response to the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to uphold the major provisions of the controversial “Obamacare” mandate. The decision will allow the federal government to require individuals to purchase health insurance and levy a tax on those who choose not to comply.
“When the government can tell you what to buy in a market in which they are the biggest player, forcing you to subsidize those who made poor choices, you are no longer free. This is not about healthcare, it’s about freedom. This is not about a tax or mandate, it is about whether or not Americans will choose to live free or bow to a tyrannical government.
“Our founders, who were committed to restraining the reach of government, laid down its singular purpose in the Declaration of Independence as to secure the rights of the people. This dictate encroaches on the liberties of every American citizen, allowing government to pierce the privacy of a doctor’s office.
“Obamacare is the Trojan horse of socialism. The choice confronting every American is whether you will obey this violation of your liberties or throw off the yoke of servitude and nullify this unconstitutional directive. They have laid the outposts of socialism and have used healthcare as a beachhead. You can put a gun to my head but I will never pay this tax or comply with this dictate. Every freedom loving American ought to adopt this stance.
“It is the duty of the governors of every sovereign state to reject this mandate for their citizens and for every American to reject it for their families.”
Assemblyman Tim Donnelly represents the 59th Assembly District in California.
Shame on you. This is about caring for everyone.

Read my comment to this issue in the article of David Dreier’s response on this right here at the SierraMadreNews.
It’s the same deal with this guy.
Geez, every time this guy is in the news it’s either saying something dumb or he’s getting arrested.
What a role model. Not!
