Posted 5/25/12 – The pre-race pasta dinner has turned into a nice Mount Wilson Trail Race tradition, with about 150 runners, friends and family members enjoying a plate of pasta, salad and bread while discussing final race strategy. This year the dinner will be provided by the wonderful people at Zugo’s Café for the low price of $7.50. All net proceeds from the race will go to Sierra Madre Search & Rescue, which will have 27 (!) of its finest up on the mountain on race day to make sure you are safe! Please bring your troops to the dinner and support this great organization!
Dinner will be served by the terrific women of the Civic Club in Kersting Court from 5:30P to 7:00P. You can also pick up your race number and T-shirt during that time.
The 104th anniversary of the first running of the Mount Wilson Trail Race will be held at 7:30A on Saturday, May 26, 2012. This annual event attracts runners from Sierra Madre, the surrounding communities, and even from places as far as New Jersey! Activities include a kids run and art show, beer garden, community and sponsor booths, souvenirs, music, and much more. Family, friends, and fans are encouraged to stop by and cheer on the runners, enjoy the MWTR activities, and be surrounded by the festive atmosphere!
