Posted 12/30/11 – Why pay more—or anything at all—for e-books when you can download and read hundreds of new and noteworthy books on your PC, Mac, laptop, tablet, smartphone, e-reader, or other electronic device using OverDrive, Sierra Madre Library’s free e-book lending library. If you are among the thousands of people who received a Nook, Kindle, or other e-reader for the holidays, and would like to start taking advantage of OverDrive, the Library staff will help you create an account and show you how to request and download books onto your personal e-device. All you need to start checking out books on OverDrive is an active Sierra Madre Library card. Don’t have a card yet? Signing up is easy—just bring a photo ID with your current address to the Library Service Desk, and the staff will be happy to issue you a card. If you’ve recently moved, and your ID has not yet been updated, a utility bill can be used as proof of address. Don’t delay—“get in gear” and “E-read with OverDrive” today!
