Posted 12/28/11 – On Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, the Sierra Madre Rotary Club had its weekly meeting at Alverno High School, in the historic Villa del Sol d’Oro. The meeting began with a performance by the Alverno Singers and Concert Choir (click link to view the performance). Following the singers were oral presentations by three of the four Sierra Madre Rose Float Princesses for 2012. Julianna Gough, a senior at South Hills High School, Tracey Janzen, a junior at Alverno High School, and Alisa Unell, a senior at Alverno all introduced themselves to the Rotarians with short speeches. Kacey Benson, a sophomore at Flintridge Sacred Heart, had finals that morning and was unable to attend. However, that evening, the four princesses introduced themselves to the community at the City Council meeting, and I was able to videotape Ms. Benson’s presentation there that evening.
