Cacti and succulents will be the subject of a slide program at the Sierra Madre Garden Club’s dinner meeting, Monday, February 14, 6pm. This will be held at Hart House in Memorial Park, 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. The public is invited.
The program will be presented by Tom Vermilion, a member and past president of the San Gabriel Valley Cactus and Succulent Society. He has been growing these versatile plants for forty years. They are considered easy to grow, ideal for drought-resistant conditions and their variety of exotic shapes, often with showy flowers, make them ideal for the garden or handsome accents when grown in containers.
The cost of the ctered dinner is $9.00 with reservations needed. To make a reservation, contact Snooky Greger at 355-0606. If you would like to skip dinner and come just for the program, come by 6:45, and there is no charge.
