New York Drive 9/11 Memorial Dedication to Include Flyover

Sept. 4th, 2011 – On Sunday, 9/11/2011, in commemoration of the 9/11 Twin Towers attack, the City of Pasadena will be joined by residents and members of neighboring communities as they dedicate New York Drive as a 9/11 Memorial.  Former military pilot and United Airlines pilot John McDaniel, who lost a son-in-law in one of the towers, has made it a personal mission to create the Memorial, and this tenth anniversary of the bombing of the twin towers will see airline representatives and employees, members of the military, friends and family members of the deceased, and survivors in attendance as the dedication takes place.  Word is that four military jets will fly overhead at 300 mph, as well.

The public is invited to attend the dedication at the corner of New York Drive and Bradley St. in Pasadena at 11am.

  1. A forewarning would have been nice. We had just stepped out of church onto the sidewalk when a very loud jet sound enveloped us. With all the warnings of a possible anniversary attack this commemorative fly-over seemed like a frightening event for a minute.
