August 23, 2011 – The Wistaria Thrift Shop, run by Sierra Madre Woman’s Club, will have a grand re-opening sale Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September 1, 2 and 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shop is located at the rear of Essick House, their historic clubhouse, 550 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., one block east of Michillinda Ave.
Closed over summer to refurbish and restock, the re-opening features a large inventory of all new merchandise offered at rock bottom prices. There is clothing for all family members, kitchenware, home decor, collectibles, craft items, books, toys, DVDs, CDs, linens, glassware, gifts and much more. It’s a bargain bonanza for both the thrifty shopper and treasure seeker and a great boon in our low economy. A great place, too, to put together a costume for Halloween.
The club has operated the shop since 1956 as its main source for its generous philanthropy giving and has been recognized as one of the best thrift shops in the San Gabriel Valley.
