Harry Shahoian rocked Sierra Madre as Elvis in a concert sponsored by the Rotary Club this evening. Harry paid tribute to his parents, who will be celebrating 40 years of marriage tomorrow, and Mama Pete, who was celebrating her 95th birthday during the show. He was also joined onstage for much of the show by his daughter, who danced the evening away as “Daddy” sang to the enjoyment of hundreds in the audience. At one point during the show, Harry announced to the audience that he and his wife Jennifer are expecting another child.
Harry took a break for several songs while “Rod Stewart” (John Anthony) came on stage and sang a few, and there were also a couple brief appearances by “Charlie Sheen.” The Concert was a part of the Summer Concert in the Park series put on by the Community and Personnel Services Department, with the help of local organizations that sponsor a week/band. Next week, Southern California Lyric Theater is the sponsor, with a performance of Fairy Tales and Fantasy VI.
I shot much of the concert in video, and will be editing and posting songs from the evening over the next few days, so be sure to check back. Here’s a couple to tide you over until I get the rest edited and posted. You can view the photos from the concert by clicking here.
