Posted 9/15/15 – updated 4pm: SCE outage map shows only one outage in northern Sierra Madre, with 10 customers affected, caused by equipment upgrade, expected to be restored by 4:30pm.
updated 12:55 pm: SCE outage map last updated at 11:17am shows 3146 still without power. There is no estimated time for restoration. We understand power is back on at SM Elementary.
Updated 11:10am: Power has now been restored at Sierra Madre Elementary. The SCE map that had reflected 7,000 affected in Arcadia has now been changed back to Sierra Madre, and the number affected is reduced to 3985, restoration still estimated for 11:30am.
At approximately 9:30am, power went out throughout much of Sierra Madre, with SCE reporting at one point that 4,122 customers were impacted.At 10:02, Edison was reporting 4,112 folks impacted with a restoration time of 1:30pm, and another 10 folks with a restoration estimate of 4:30pm. As of this writing, the larger Sierra Madre outage point on the map is now shown as Arcadia, with more than 7,000 affected. The restoration estimate has been changed to 11:30am.
Power outages were reported in the Sierra Madre Canyon, the center of town just south of Sierra Madre Blvd., on South Hermosa, Montecito, Manzanita, and at Canon and Montecito. Also there are unconfirmed reports that both Sierra Madre Elementary and Sierra Madre Middle School are affected.
We’ve received reports that power has been restored to some locations, including parts of Orange Grove, Victoria Lane, and Mt. Trail/Alegria.
