Posted 12/31/14 – The Board of Directors of the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association (SMRFA) dedicated this year’s float to Bob Young in a brief ceremony at the barn this evening, before heading down to the parade. On the way they stopped over at Kersting Court to allow local residents a chance to get up close and personal with the float prior to tomorrow’s big day. The video below includes the dedication speech by Board member Barbie Bevington, and footage of the float leaving the barn, it’s arrival in Kersting Court, and the raising of the giraffe’s heads and the engine (they must be lowered to go under the freeway overpasses along the parade route. Below the video is the photo gallery.
