At the mega-conglomerate General Products Corporation, a greedy board of directors is about to run a distinguished firm into the ground by looting the company and lining their own pockets. Does it sound like this comes from today’s headlines? Well, “The Solid Gold Cadillac” was first performed in 1953.
Laura Partridge, a former actress and young widow, has ten shares of stock in General Products. That’s enough top make her voice heard at a shareholders’ meeting. It’s also enough to get her plans started. Teaming up with the company’s former president, she’ll find a way to stop the corporate crooks from bleeding General Products dry. How will she accomplish that? It involves caring about other small stockholders like herself.
Will the larcenous bigwigs get their comeuppance? With Laura Partridge around, you bet they will.
Georgan George plays Laura Partridge. The cast also includes Kevin Allesee, Jill Bartlett, Michael Bruce, Tony Cicchetti, Aric Cushing, Jessica Fox, Sasha Golberg, Norman Igar, Jeremy Mascia and Kent Vaughan.
