During the week of Sunday, May 1st, to Saturday May 7th, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 331 calls for service. See crimereports.com for updated information.
Sunday, May 1st:
9:04 AM- Violation of Court Order, 200 blk. W. Sierra Madre Blvd. Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspect in violation of a court order. Officers arrived and determined that the suspect was in violation of a court order. The suspect also had three outside criminal warrants. Officers issued the suspect written promises to appear for the warrants and arrested the suspect for the violation of the court order. The suspect was transported to the Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.
4:51 PM- Possession of Replica Firearm, 100 blk. N Canon Ave. This case involves a report of a subject with a rifle on the Sierra Madre upper campus. When officers arrived they found three minors in possession of replica firearms, including one without the orange tip, which made it appear to be a real shotgun. Officers took the minors to the Sierra Madre Police Department where they were released to their parents.
7:55 PM- Warrant/Outside/Traffic Arrest, Santa Anita Ave. and Arno Dr. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and a warrant for his arrest from Arcadia Police Department. One of the passengers in the vehicle had a felony warrant for his arrest from Riverside County. The driver was taken into custody by Arcadia Police Department and the passenger was transported to Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.
Monday, May 2nd:
8:50 PM – Unauthorized Use of Personal Information, 500 blk. Acacia St. This case involved the unauthorized use of the victim’s name and identification to open an account.
Tuesday, May 3rd:
10:00 AM- Unauthorized Use of Personal Identification, 800 blk. Woodland Drive. This case involves the fraudulent use of the victim’s personal information to open a bank account.
10:30 AM- Forgery, 600 blk. E. Grandview Ave. This case involves forging the victim’s signature on a real estate document for a property in Granada Hils.
Thursday, May 5th:
4:58 PM- Danger to Self/Others/Gravely Disabled, 300 blk. W. Sierra Madre Blvd. Officers were dispatched to a report of a possible suicide investigation. When officers arrived, an investigation revealed a man had left suicide notes and sent text messages stating he wanted to end his life. Officers found the man at Chantry Flats where he agreed that he needed help. The man was taken into protective custody for a 72-hour-psychiatric evaluation.
Friday, May 6th:
5:08 PM- Vandalism, 600 blk. N. Auburn Ave. The suspect(s) may have used a vehicle to pull a gate open. A lock to the gate was found to be removed and damaged. The suspect vehicle was possibly a black Ford pick-up truck seen driving away from the location when the resident left.
Saturday, May 7th:
10:16 PM- Warrant/Outside/Traffic Arrest, Baldwin Ave. and Foothill Blvd. An officer stopped a motorist for a Vehicle Code violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had an expired driver’s license and multiple traffic warrants for her arrest from L.A. County agencies. One of the passengers in the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver and passenger were cited and released.
