Posted 11/2/13 – SMPD, with help from SMPD Volunteers (thank you very much), closed down Sierra Madre Blvd. and Baldwin Ave. in the downtown district for Halloween Trick or Treaters that visited participating businesses and received candy and other treats on Thursday, Halloween. While they were there, many of them signed up with Kiwanians, assisted by the Arcadia High School Key Club and Sierra Madre Middle School Builders’ Club, for the contest at Memorial Park later in the day. Kiwanis sponsors that contest every year. I’ll be posting pictures and video from that a little later.
Here’s a gallery of the pics I shot during the Trick or Treating (yes, City of Sierra Madre, it’s Trick “OR” Treating, NOT Trick “o” Treating).
The streets were closed down to facilitate easy movement from store to store
Bottle Shop, which recently celebrated 50 years, got into the act
SM Playhouse was getting ready for its Celebrity Zombies show later that night
Century 21 Village Realty handed out treats
Adam Matsumoto and Elisa Cox got into the spirit with Peter Pan themed costumes
Mother Moo Creamery got involved
Baldwin Jewelers avoided having any tricks played
Where do we register for the contest
Members of AHS Key Club on the left and Kiwanis on the right were signing the kids up
The Sierra Madre Middle School Builders Club assisted Kiwanis, as well
Pretty creative…
There were superheroes in abundance…
As I was saying
Kenny from Zugo’s hands out candy to the little ones
as did Mailbox & Postal
Hygeia Environmental Laboratories, Inc. also had the spirit
Another superhero…or is it Ben Affleck?
Former Mayor Josh Moran and son wondering why Mom’s not in the picture…
