Posted 7/21/13 – After the parade on the fourth, there was a Community Picnic in the Park. Sierra Madre Civic Club sponsored and oversaw traditional games such as a three-legged race, egg toss, balloon toss and more, Gem City Jazz Cats performed big band and swing, there were several food trucks on hand, the pool was open for free swim (brain fade, I didn’t get a single picture at the pool), there was a beer garden, non-profits set up fund-raising booths and CERT set up an information booth, and the Chamber had its dunk tank. There’s a photo gallery from the picnic here, and here’s video from the dunk tank (both days). And click below to view the video that features some of the games put on by Civic Club, and a couple songs by Gem City Jazz Cats, including their tribute to America’s military.
