Although the annual Mother’s Day Tea usually sells out, don’t hesitate to call the Sierra Madre Public Library to check on last-minute ticket availability if you would like to attend. “Love and Friendship: A Mother’s Day Tea with Jane Austen,” will be held on Saturday, May 7, 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Woman’s Club Clubhouse, 550 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. Mary Burkin will perform as Jane Austen, reading from her works and sharing tidbits of family and neighborhood gossip. Afternoon tea, boasting a full complement of fruits, sweets and savories, follows the program. If available, tickets may be purchased at the Library up until 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 6.
