Press Release posted 12/3/12 – Ixora Floral Studio and The Shabby Dog, both Sierra Madre small business staples are hosting a holiday toy drive event on Saturday, December 15, 2012. The event rings in the holiday spirit and gives the community of Sierra Madre an opportunity to collect toys for children to be distributed to Toys for Tots.
The holidays are an opportunity for Ixora and Shabby to give back outside of the community, and show others a taste of how small businesses give back in a big way. Starting December 3, 2012, customers and clients of Shabby and Ixora are invited to start dropping off toys at their respective store locations. The City of Sierra Madre Fire Department and Police Department are already designated toy drop-off locations for Toys for Tots, and the additional donations to Ixora and Shabby will be added to the collection that both departments are already accruing.
“The holidays are a special time for many families, and we can tend to take for granted that some families just don’t have enough to give to their children,” says Shabby Dog owner, Sandy Lewis-Duvall.
“Lisa and I are excited to participate in an event like this,” says Ixora’s, Craig Cardella, “and it helps us slow down our sometimes hectic schedules and focus on what’s important this season – giving.”
The holiday toy event will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1 pm at the Ixora Studio and Shabby Dog courtyard, 31 and 35 E. Montecito Ave, Sierra Madre, CA. Sierra Madre Fire Department and Police Department will be present to collect the toy donations and to help rally support within the community.
