Press Release posted 11/23/12 – If you look carefully, you may notice some familiar little faces in TV spots promoting Dreamwork’s holiday blockbuster movie, Rise of the Guardians!
Junior kindergarteners through second graders from St. Rita School were interviewed in early October by Hurwitz Creative Production for inclusion in TV spots and online featurettes promoting the movie. Shannon Morzov, General Manager and St. Rita alum, arranged for the interviews to be held at the school.
Rise of the Guardians, which opened in theaters this week, is an animated tale of good vs. evil in which the epic characters of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Sandman, Tooth Fairy and Jack Frost must join forces to save children’s imaginations by battling the evil spirit, Pitch. Featured voices include Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, Chris Pine and Jude Law.
The children, interviewed in Mrs. Cash’s second grade classroom, were asked questions such as “How do you think Santa Claus makes it to all of those houses on Christmas Eve?” and “What does the Tooth Fairy do with all the teeth she collects?” The children had an abundance of things to say!
“Spending the day at St. Rita’s with the kids was one of the most fun I’ve had on the job,” said Dave Hren, Production Supervisor for Hurwitz Creative. “They were really cute and funny and we’re thrilled with the results.”
The children’s adorable commentary on these legendary figures can be seen in a couple versions of the TV spot, shown nationally, as well as at www.redtri.com/kids/enter-the-rise-of-the-guardians-contest in online featurettes, one of which appears below.
St. Rita School is located at 322 N. Baldwin Ave. in Sierra Madre. The Catholic parish school is celebrating their 90th year, with a focus on faith, stewardship and academic excellence.
