Sierra Madre Woman’s Club is reaching out to women throughout the area to attend their annual Membership Tea on Wednesday, September 26, l:00 p.m. This will be held in Essick House, their historic clubhouse, 550 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. An afternoon of enjoyment is planned for those who attend and an opportunity to learn what this busy, caring group is all about. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Sudbury and Ramos.
Founded in 1907 and celebrating its 105th year, the club has a long tradition of service to the community, generous philanthropy donations to a long list of worthy causes and is a place to make lasting friendships. The club is also an active member of the Federation of Women’s Clubs, a worldwide organization doing good throughout the globe.
Daytime meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month through May, at 11:00 a.m. This includes club business, a delicious catered lunch followed by a program of interest and enjoyment for members. Some months they also have a tea meeting on the fourth Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The yearly club calendar includes several social, community and fund-raising events.
Their very popular Wistaria Thrift Shop, recognized as one of the best in the San Gabriel Valley, is located at the rear of the clubhouse and is a bargain, treasure seeker bonanza.
