Bargains galore will be the order of the day when the Wistaria Thrift Shop, operated by Sierra Madre Woman’s Club, has its Grand Re-opening Sale, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 6, 7 and 8, 10 am to 3 pm. The shop is located at the rear of Essick House, their historic clubhouse,550 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., and has been closed since June to refurbish and restock. All new merchandise will be offered says Elma Flores, shop chair.
Shoppers will find clothing for all family members, a special selection of infants and childrens clothing, jewelry, shoes, handbags, scarfs, ties, a huge variety of household needs, craft supplies, books, electronics, toys, collectibles and much more with always great finds for the treasure seeker. Also, with Halloween coming, it’s a great place to create your costume.
Run by the club since 1956, the shop has been a main source of income for its very generous giving to a long list of needy causes, plus upkeep of their Craftsman clubhouse, a city cultural landmark. The shop has received recognition several times as one of the best in the San Gabriel Valley. All volunteer staffed, they are happy to assist customers.
Regular shop hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday and 1st, 3rd and 4th Saturdays. For more information call the shop phone at 626-355-7739.
